A Message from The Merchant House: Thank You for an Incredible Journey

Dear Friends, Guests, and the Greenville Community,

After an unforgettable chapter, The Merchant House will be closing our doors, effective immediately. While this is a bittersweet moment, we want to focus on what matters most: the incredible memories, relationships, and community spirit that have made this journey so meaningful.

Since the day we opened in the heart of downtown Greenville, it has been our greatest honor to serve you. What began as a dream to bring vibrant food, craft drinks, and a welcoming space to Broadway Street quickly grew into something even bigger — a community gathering place filled with laughter, celebrations, and unforgettable evenings.

We are proud to have created a space that celebrated Greenville’s rich history, housed in a beautifully restored late 1800’s building with its exposed brick, reclaimed woodwork, and the stories woven into every detail. Our menu reflected that same spirit, blending creativity with local flavor — from our Detroit-style deep-dish pizzas to house-smoked barbecue to American comfort fare — and proudly sourcing ingredients from local partners right here in Darke County. Along the way, we were grateful to support and collaborate with local businesses, artists, musicians, and farmers who make this community so special.

Most of all, we are proud to have been part of the energy and growth of downtown Greenville. And we are forever grateful to have shared so many milestones with you — from first dates and anniversaries to birthday parties and casual nights out. You made The Merchant House more than just a restaurant. You made it home.

Thank you for believing in us, for dining with us, for celebrating with us, and for making us a part of your lives. Your loyalty, friendship, and support have meant more than words can express.
